Piet is an accomplished User Experience (UX) Designer and User Researcher with over fourteen years of focused contributions to both software and hardware development. He is currently a UX Design and Research Lead with HP’s Cloud OS team which develops IT infrastructure management tools on the OpenStack cloud-computing open source project. He also a Director with the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics (BCPE) which provides professional certification for practitioners of human factors/ergonomics who demonstrate expertise and comprehensive understanding of the discipline.

Piet’s education includes a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from Western Washington University and master's degree in Human Factors Engineering from Virginia Tech.
